The jersey, inspired by cult icon bootleg jerseys made for the likes of Maradona, shows moments through Michael D. Higgins' life. The first two panels show him as a man and a politician, the final panel shows him alongside his family. Between these images are Uachtarán na hÉireann's poetry, excerpts from his poems 'Against All Certainty', 'The Betrayal', and 'The Death Of The Red Cow'.
